Jackson Hole

I've been wanting to go to Jackson Hole ever since Mark and Lorna went in July. I'd never been, and the pictures they brought back were beautiful. So I planned my own birthday present and Dan and I went on Friday and Saturday.

We left early friday morning and as soon as we got to Jackson, we got on our bikes. The ride was 25 miles and went through some really beautiful ranches on a secluded road.

After the ride we went up to Teton Village and walked around, then drove over the Teton Pass (absolutely gorgeous!) to a bed&breakfast we stayed at in Idaho. That evening we went to Grand Targhee to see the resort. Yet another beautiful drive:

For dinner we went to this restaurant called Warbirds. It's right by the local airport in Driggs, Idaho and the restaurant is in a hangar. We got to watch a few planes land...

On Saturday we headed back over to Teton Village, parked our car, and got back on our bikes. We rode 30 miles up to Jenny Lake and back, and it was an amazing ride! So much better than if we had driven up there.

At Jenny Lake we walked sat by the lake for a while and enjoyed the scenery.

After the ride we drove around Jackson and stopped by Snow King. Three ski resorts in one trip! In front of the resort they had a playground with this huge bouldering wall for anyone to use.

In the late afternoon we started the drive back home. There was a pull-out on the highway where you could watch rafters go down the Kahuna and Lunch Counter rapids on the Snake River. We sat there for almost an hour.

Despite almost running out of gas in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception, we made it home. It was a perfect birthday trip!
