We went in the beginning of August with Mark, Lorna, Mitchell and Patrick. I was worried about bringing Olive and sure enough, the first time we stopped the boat so we could all swim Olive jumped straight into the water.
She had a life jacket on but she didn't even hesitate! She did it once more and strangely after that never really wanted to get in the water. She had been swimming in pools all summer and I think the lake kind of freaked her out.Ellie and Alta were perfectly comfortable in the water and loved swimming. Finally.
Olive likes Uncle Mitchell:
There was some spearboy fishing going on. Patrick filleted a few of them and cooked them up.
The weather was perfect for us, and we even got rained on a little bit.
The whole little family going for a ride:
Olive would go in the water a tiny bit, or sit on the tube, but she would get really nervous right away.
She did, however, love wearing Dan's goggles:
Alta and Grandpa relaxing:
Everyone slept surprisingly well and Olive even cooperated by sleeping in the tiny baby tent inside
the cabin, naps and all.
Dan and Alta getting pulled behind the big boat:
Ellie just about falling asleep while she watched them.
Because of the tubing incident earlier in the summer it took a lot of convincing to get Ellie back on. We went behind the big boat as slooooow as possible and she still cried to get off. Hopefully all will be forgotten next summer! (But I doubt it.)
Little cutie soaking in the sun:
Uncle Mitchell has upped his game and the girls finally acknowledge and like him now:
Some mild cliff diving:
And Dan and his three girls in one of the most beautiful places:
It was a great trip and reminded me how much I love Lake Powell.
