We had an upcoming family reunion that was going to involve camping so we thought we'd better get the girls used to sleeping in a tent. We tried setting up a trip with some friends but the weather wasn't cooperating, so we chose the backyard route:
We made tinfoil dinners on the grill and then brought the tv outside so we could watch 101 Dalmatians.
We put Olive to bed in her room inside, stayed up with the girls for a bit, and then said goodnight and went inside. I was fully expecting to hear them come in at 3 in the morning, but they stayed asleep all night! This is the best form of camping there is. No crying babies, and I got to sleep in my own bed. They ended up doing this several times over the summer.
We had another BBQ with Kevin and Mal, this time at their house. Olive and Beck played in the dirt, and after this Beck got the hose out and laughed as he sprayed everyone in the face.
Olive loves to put on any clothes the girls leave out on their floor. Including dirty underwear.
Oh, and you can see Alta's track shirt in this picture - she ran track with Dimple Dell. She did NOT like running long distance, but did like the long jump. She ran the 50m and 100m at her two meets. She tends to back off when there's competition (in anything in her life) and it was funny to see her run so much slower in the meets than I knew she could be running. She's actually pretty fast when she tries!

My pathetic beets. They weren't even worth cooking. The beet greens, however, were delicious, along with my successful swiss chard. I never got around to planting my summer seeds so this was the last of my garden.
Near the end of June, Jamie and Andy came to visit. We stayed busy doing as much as possible with them. Their boys asked to go to Snogression (Max is a fan of Kevin and Mitchell and watches all their movies) so we spent a couple hours jumping:

We went with the Marinos family to visit the Heaths and swim in the hot tub (that they keep cool in the summer)
and play in the splash pad they put in their back yard. Olive loved it!
And we took the Marinos family boating again.

The boys got to ski/wakeboard and the little kids took turns tubing. Alta and Ellie have loved tubing until this trip, when Dan accidentally knocked Ellie off the tube. It was traumatic for her AND me. She screamed and screamed because she thought we were leaving her behind. She hates tubing now!

Oh, another random picture. Getting in a beautiful early training ride before heading to Provo again. We drove to Provo a lot this summer!

Jamie and Andy left at the very end of June and we were sad to see them go.
Usually I would do a little update on Olive at the end of each month, but the problem with waiting for 6 months to update my blog is that I don't remember anything!
