July 2015 (part 2)

Between Dan working the equivalent of two jobs and then spending all our extra time with visiting family, we spent very little time just the two of us this summer. Dan planned a date for us one night and we went go-karting at the new place in Sandy. It was a lot of fun, even though I'm a horrible driver.

 Ever since moving back to Utah, we love using our Sunday afternoons during the summer to take long drives and explore the canyons. We didn't get nearly enough of that this summer, but we did explore Guardsman Pass one Sunday and found a lake:

 Olive is always trying to keep up with her sisters. She seriously thinks she's 5 and can do anything they can do. She walked almost the whole way back to the car:

 We went to Mark and Lorna's for a party for Dan's Grandma Eileen one evening. The girls really love summer corn:

And then near the end of July, Bekah came to visit! She and Sawyer and Wyatt stayed for a few weeks and Jim was there at the beginning and end of their trip. Wyatt's birthday is July 24 (Pioneer Day) so he loves to be in Utah and get a parade on his birthday. We had a little birthday party for him and Olive loved the party favors:

 We drove up to Tibble Fork Reservoir and had a picnic on the rocky beach. It was a little cold and we didn't stay long.

We had tried to hike Cecret Lake last year when Bekah was here but the parking lot was full. This year we decided to get up there early and were able to get a spot. (My mom was with us too, but not in the pictures). I've done this hike so many times but I still love it. 

 We went swimming at my parents country club, where Olive started figuring out how to float with the puddle jumper. Once again she was fearless. She would push off the stairs and float into the middle of the pool over and over.

We went to the dinosaur museum. Olive was mad that Ellie was sitting on the dinosaur:

She started throwing some serious fits during this month. She would always be throwing herself on the floor for some ridiculous reason. As frustrating as it was (and is), it was always kind of funny. Her personality really started coming out this summer! She started purposefully trying to get people to laugh and react to her. She is a funny, social little girl and is either very happy or very mad. 

I know we did so much more with Bekah and her boys but I don't have any more pictures. But it is definitely a good summer when I get to see all three of my sisters! We loved having so many visitors.
