SF trip - day 6

We woke up, had some breakfast, and loaded up the car. The hotel was right on the lake so before we left we walked down and looked at the lake. It was my first time seeing Lake Tahoe and I couldn't believe how clear the water was! And how big it was. I loved it.

We drove along the lake to the south end and took a little stop to see Emerald Bay:

And then kept driving a little further to the smaller Fallen Leaf Lake just south of Tahoe. Lorna had told us about a short hike there and it ended up being a perfect place for the girls! I don't think we ever found the right trail, but we ended up on a small rocky beach away from everyone so we could play by ourselves:

The girls didn't like getting their pants wet so those went,

And then Ellie fell in and wanted to take her shirt off, which meant Alta wanted to as well, and then Dan decided to take a swim in his underwear too (far in the background). It was just a family party!

And that was the end of our adventures! We got in the car and drove all the way home, tired of road food and ready to sleep in our own beds. I love road trips and can't wait to take more with our little family!
