Ellie

Time for a post dedicated just to her.


-Ellie is 17 months old. Almost nursery time! And what a relief it will be (if she goes by herself). I don't even make it to the opening prayer in sunday school before she's screaming.

-She is super late getting teeth, and she's getting them in a really weird order. She got her first tooth (bottom middle) at 15 1/2 months old. A month later she got her second tooth...a molar. Another molar popped through a few days later. What will be next?

-She says a few word, but mostly just grunt-yells until we figure out what she wants.

-Just in the last couple days she discovered the toilet was a fun toy. I have to keep the bathroom door closed now.

-She loves to eat. Wherever I go, I have to bring a huge bag full of snacks because I know she'll be hungry. She wants to feed herself, and refuses to eat when I try to cut up her food into manageable pieces.
-She's very much a one-year-old. Her moods are every-changing and she gets frustrated easily when she can't communicate what she wants. She doesn't understand the whole sharing thing so she gets mad at Alta all the time when they're playing. And when she gets mad, she shows it. She will grab toys and chuck them across the room, hit whoever is closest, and throw herself on the ground. Sometimes I have to try not to laugh.

-She is, quite possibly, the best sleeper ever. This is a fantastic change from the first half of her life. She actually gets excited to go to bed.
