December was snowy and cold this year! After the first big snowstorm, Dan took the girls to the park to ski and sled. They were much more interested in the skiing. Ellie even tried and went down while holding Dan's hands. Alta jumped back into it as if it hadn't been 8 months since she last skiied.
A week later, Dan took Alta to Snowbird for some real skiing. She just wanted to go fast and had forgotten how to turn or stop and crashed pretty hard. But it didn't take long for her to figure it out again and she loves it.
We did the usual early December things: setting up the tree and decorating it, getting the advent calendar out, etc. but no pictures! I did have this craving for gingerbread cookies and made some (while watching a BYU game at the Browers) so the girls could decorate them. They thought it was a lot of fun. Next time we are definitely doing gingerbread houses!
We have some good friends that were moving out of the state so they organized a little Christmas get-together before they left. We ate at the Tin Angel Cafe and it was wonderful!
We also had our annual Christmas party with the usual crowd and had a blast playing games and doing our white elephant exchange. It was an ugly sweater party and I totally failed to find the energy to find something that would fit my pregnant belly. The girls:
And the boys:
Later in the month we invited Ruby and Ellie over so we could decorate gingerbread cookies again! I didn't get a picture of all the girls, but Ellie is a cutie:
Christmas break is next!
